Hell's Park Underside/Hell Cafe Area/Fire

Hell Cafe (weak to Fire Fire)

Overview[edit]

Difficulty AVery hardEditorial estimate
Recurring revival and escalating fractional damage require burst damage and control of the boss.
Recommended demonsKit-based options · reviewed 14 Oct 2026

Remove Black Maria’s Bulwark every turn, then kill her first with Fire. Bulwark Pierce damages HP without necessarily breaking the shield, so it is not itself a counter to her revenge/revival condition.

Madoka KanameLimited collaboration
Repeated Bulwark removal

My Prayer removes enemy Bulwarks when a party member is about to act, rather than relying on damaging the shield. This specifically prevents Black Maria’s shield-dependent revenge and mass revive while it is available.

Setup: Limited collaboration; keep Madoka alive.

Watch out: Her Light attacks are support damage here; the main attacker should use the area’s Fire weakness.

AlephLimited collaboration
Priority Fire damage

His repeated single-target Fire damage pressures Black Maria after the Bulwark is removed. Colosseum Warrior also weakens ordinary enemy revivals by bringing them back with 1 HP.

Setup: Build PDEF.

Watch out: Do not mistake that revival modifier for preventing Black Maria from reviving her team.

EfreetFusion
Area-genome fallback

The Fire version’s Underside genome removes enemy Bulwarks on the first Fire attack. This is a useful opening substitute if you do not own Madoka.

Setup: Requires the matching Underside genome.

Watch out: The removal is once per battle; you still need a plan for Black Maria’s later Bulwarks.

Choose complementary roles from demons you own. These are matchup suggestions, not a verified automatic-clear team.

Recommended demons

Follow the selected challenge’s roster/archetype rules. Special bonuses require the matching Underside skill, not merely the same demon name. Break or remove Black Maria’s Bulwark every turn, then kill her. Bulwark Pierce alone does not break the shield.

Earlier recommended alternatives
Madoka KanameBanner exclusive
Banner: repeated shield removal
Her about-to-act chain removes enemy Bulwarks up to twice per turn, helping disable Black Maria’s shield-dependent revenge before damage carries act.
Needs: Time removal after enemy shields appear; use a carry of the area’s required element. Banner option for unrestricted clears only; not legal for a fusible-only or 4★-only challenge.
Watch for: Her Light damage is not a Fire/Force carry. Removing the shield, rather than bypassing it, is the reason to use her.

PeriBanner exclusive
Banner: Fire shield removal
Flame Aether’s successful-hit chain removes enemy Bulwarks, while Fire support and cleansing aid the chosen element.
Needs: Build MATK and enough MP for repeat casts. Banner option for unrestricted clears only; not legal for a fusible-only or 4★-only challenge.
Watch for: The initial Bulwark-piercing hit does not break the shield by itself; ensure the removal follow-up succeeds.

The matching Underside skill removes enemy Bulwarks after an ally uses Fire once per battle. Time it after the shields appear.

Explanation

  • At the start of the player turn, Black Maria applies a 5% Bulwark to herself, and Odin applies an 8% Bulwark to the entire enemy team.
  • If Black Maria still has a Bulwark when your turn ends, she will hit your party with 50% Fractional Damage based on current HP. After that, she will remove Revive Ban from her entire team and revive them at full health.
    • For every turn she is alive, the fractional damage will ramp up to use max HP instead, increase from 50% to 75%, and increase its damage cap to 5,000 and then 10,000 HP.
  • Black Maria's attacks are Almighty Almighty-based. Deathtouch heals her, while Sea of Chaos applies a 3-turn DEF Debuff to your party.
  • The left Berserker can sometimes apply Mute with Phys Dark Sword.
  • Hellbound: Almighty will apply 5 stacks of Spirit Chains of Suppression to you.
  • If you fail to kill the adds by the start of their second turn, they will hit you with a bulwark-piercing, 100%-crit enrage AoE. Black Maria will do one too, if she isn't dead by her third turn.

General strategy[edit]

  • You must break or remove Black Maria's Bulwark each turn, to avoid her revenge fractional hit and revives. The Bulwark is 13% of her max HP (5% from herself + 8% from Odin).
    • Efreet with the skill Efreet (Underside) will automatically remove the enemies' Bulwarks the first time you use a Fire Fire attack, but only once per battle.
    • If you intend to break the Bulwark manually, then you must use attacks that do NOT pierce Bulwarks. Demons with Bulwark-piercing innate skills can consider transferring attacks that don't pierce, such as Fire Agidyne or Fire Fire Slash.
  • Once the Bulwark is down, kill Maria ASAP.

Underside skill demons[edit]

Efreet
Efreet (Underside) effect overview
  • Self gets 50% HP, 180% Fire damage, 20% accuracy, 3 MP discount for Fire skills, and immunity to Spirit Chains of Suppression.
  • The team gets 40% Fire damage and 40% accuracy.
  • If any team member uses a Fire skill, Efreet removes all of the enemy team's Bulwarks (once per battle).
Colors
  • Clear Clear for the fusibles ruleset, and for Fire Agidyne.
  • Purple Purple for Back Attack, for about a 3% overall damage gain (assuming Fire Trisagion is used).
Skill Transfer
Brands
  • MATK% Spell.
  • Due to his MP discount, Divine's MP regen is probably not necessary.
Misc notes
  • The Bulwark removal effect only works once per battle, meaning you can't rely on it in turn 2 onwards.
Jack Frost
Jack Frost (Underside) effect overview
  • Self gets Concentrate (2.25x damage) on his first action - this is about 63% damage on average across his 2 actions on the first turn. Also gets 50% HP and immunity to Spirit Chains of Suppression.
Colors
  • (Any)
Skill Transfer
  • Use Fire Agidyne.
  • Jack Frost does not have any MP discounts, so 7 MP skills such as Fire Trisagion may be too expensive to cast repeatedly.
    • Fire Trisagion (Underside) starts at 7 MP, then becomes 6 MP at max level. This is the best skill he can use, but the cost of maxing it is very high.
Brands
  • MATK% Spell or Divine.
