Usage in the published Top-500 lists, not a win rate. The snapshot period can be ongoing; these are not final weekly winners.

Choose a damage engine, a survival/recovery plan and an answer to the opponent’s engine. Usage suggests what you should prepare to face; it does not prove a team’s win rate or make every highly used demon interchangeable.

Role Current kit examples What to check
Damage and turn pressure Aleph Inaruna Nanashi Aleph adds an own-turn icon and uses PDEF-scaled Fire Buddy damage. Inaruna follows extra icons/Laceration with attacks. Nanashi rewards Magic/Fractional team damage with Ice chains. Match stat builds and triggers instead of simply adding three carries.
Mitigation and disruption Naamah Party mitigation, Fortify and Laceration support a damage plan. Check counters to Laceration, HP-cost sustain, and whether Charm can land; immunity does not remove all her other utility.
Revival and repeated action Hiroko Amanozako Hiroko has an own-turn icon and limited repeated party revival. Amanozako reacts to ally deaths with Recurrence and can revive on her own death. Check trigger limits, revive restrictions and surviving anchors. Both supports together consume half the team’s slots.
Wave/burst alternative Phoenix Abdiel Phoenix benefits from first strike, kills and Almighty repels; Abdiel provides focused Light physical damage and damage amplification. Select them for the specific defensive matchup rather than treating usage as a universal ordering.

Example cores to test[edit]

These are kit-based starting points, not documented four-demon teams or verified win-rate claims. Add the remaining slots from your collection for the matchup.

  • Aleph + Naamah: Fire damage/extra actions alongside mitigation and Laceration. Decide whether the open slots need recovery, more pressure or a specific counter; Naja can supply healing/cleansing when needed.
  • Nanashi + Hiroko: Magic/Fractional chain pressure with revival and repeatable icon support. Check whether the other two slots can exploit the chain engine while surviving the opponent’s opening.
  • Inaruna + an extra-icon generator: extra-icon and Laceration triggers can add damage outside the selected attack. Check enemy reaction chains and whether the added actions produce a safe kill sequence.

Attack versus defense[edit]

On attack, choose targets and Buddy options for the opponent. On defense, check AI behaviour, action order, initial resources and whether your survival plan works when the AI targets poorly. A manually successful attack roster is not automatically a good defense.

Investment and substitutions[edit]

  • Build the stat named by the skill, including unusual PDEF/MDEF/HP scaling. Add physical accuracy where the attacks can miss.
  • Inspect required panels, archetypes, Spirit Chain resistance and action limits before comparing a low-investment copy with a completed build.
  • Replace a role, not just an element. Losing recurring icons, revival or a specific chain trigger can dismantle the team even if the replacement hits harder.
  • Keep a short match log: opponent roster, both speeds, investment, opening sequence and failure trigger. Use that evidence to change one slot at a time.
