Dormarth/Lore

Official Profile[edit]

A canine demon appearing in Celtic mythology. Dormarth is said to be a hunting dog owned by Gwyn, king of the afterlife. She has a red nose that is visible even through mountain mists. While there are several theories about the meaning of Dormarth's name, the most common is that it means "death's door," as she is thought to serve as the gatekeeper of the world of the dead that Gwyn rules.
