A wicked, serpentine dragon with three heads that was created by the evil Zoroastrian god Angra Mainyu. It is able to wield a thousand spells, and is feared as an entity that brings harm to humans. Within the Avesta, Azhi Dahaka is depicted as having 3 heads, 3 mouths, and 6 eyes; the three heads are associated with pain, suffering, and death. It also has scales that are very hard to pierce with a blade, as well as an abnormal amount of vitality. Even were it to suffer a mortal wound, it would not perish so easily. The hero Fariedone, with the help of the goddess Anahita, was able to seal Azhi Dahaka away deep within Mt. Damavand. It is said that the seal will break during the end times, causing devastation worldwide, but also that Azhi Dahaka is ultimately fated to be slain by the hero Garshasp.
